We even use USA made organic thread! They come in a cream color which is the undyed cotton and in 2 lengths 4" and 4 1/2" with a width of 2". How to measure for a good fit -Measure the distance from the bottom of your nostril or your hairline where it meets your face to the bottom of your ear lobe where it meets your face. The strap sleeve should cover this distance. My measurement is 4 1/2 Inches but I prefer the 4" size.As a general rule men tend to wear 4.5" women 4" but of course that depends on face size. The Background Story (just extra info if you want to read it) I've been wearing a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) mask with my CPAP and then EPR machine for over 10 years. I wouldn't think of sleeping without it. My sleep disorder doctor and my "PAP" machine have probably saved or a least prolonged my life. The quality of my life has improved since I no longer have severe headaches during the night from lack of oxygen, I don't jerk awake with my heart beating too strong and too fast - basically lurching alive again, and I no longer have leg cramps also from lack of oxygen. These were the worst symptoms of my sleep apnea. An added boost is that I'm not tired, tired, tired during the day. So what could make my apnea mask work even better? Definitely - Cool Cheeks Strap Sleeves! I have sensitive skin & developed adult acne from the facial oils my synthetic Velcro headgear straps absorbed. Frequent washing of the straps didn't work because the elastic in the straps lost its resiliency over time. The straps became useless by the 3rd month. Lost elastic resiliency = poor air seals = poor apnea control = apnea complications = health risks. A friend & I created Cool Cheeks Strap Sleeves to solve the problem. Within 2 days of using our Strap Sleeves, I didn't have the acne and I stopped having strap marks in the morning. Since I've been using our Strap Sleeves, my elastic headgear has more than doubled its lifespan. I wear a fresh pair of Strap Sleeves every night or two, so we sell Cool Cheeks Strap Sleeves in sets of 2 or 3 pairs to work around your clothes washing schedule. Putting on a fresh pair is like having clean sheets...refreshing. However, we're also list one pair so that you can try this Cool Cheeks Strap Sleeves out. Our Cool Cheeks Strap Sleeves are comfortable; much more comfortable than straps alone. We called them Cool Cheeks because they are soft and cool against your face. Our Cool Cheeks Strap Sleeves are thin enough to allow a good air seal for your mask. I sleep better with my Cool Cheeks Strap Sleeves. You know how many of us wouldn't think about not using our CPAP or other PAP machines, that's how I feel about the Strap Sleeves, they make a huge comfort difference. Cool Cheeks Strap Sleeves will never be made using synthetic fabrics. The main cloth we're using now is a Satin Weave cotton. The washing instructions say these should be washed in cold water and dried on low, but, I have to tell you, I've washed this fabric in warm and dried them on permanent press with no problems. Helpful tip - When you wash these and remove them from the dryer, take just a few moments to smooth them out with your hand or, if you want, iron them, so that the seam is in the middle of the back of the sleeve. This makes it easier to keep the smooth side toward your cheek. The picture above shows the smooth side of the Strap Sleeve facing out. That side of the strap is actually what you want to have up against your cheek. We sew our fabric with a rolled edge and a reinforced French seam or surged seam - we have both right now although future sleeves will all be surged. The pictures show the French seam. Our sleeves are in a tube designed to slip easily over your headgear strap. I don't know about you but I felt like a cross between Elephant Man and Hannibal Lecter when I first put on my mask. The learning curve on our strap sleeves is only a few nights long at most. Simple instructions arrive with your order. Cool Cheeks Strap Sleeves make great gifts for friends, family and co-workers; anyone who has sleep apnea & uses an air passage machine.
