Protection Tips for Sellers

CPAPAuction sellers may find these tips helpful in achieving a positive trading experience.

Tips for your listing
  • Present the items you are listing in an honest and factual manner

  • Clearly indicate your return policy in your auction listing.

  • Answer quickly to questions from buyers.

  • Review your buyer's feedback.

  • Exercise caution if there is any abnormal bidding movement.

  • Offer PayPal or Credit Card payments to your buyers, making it easier to submit payment.

  • Outline completely your shipping and handling terms in both the listing description and the shipping comments areas.

When your item is won
  • Purchase a tracking number and insure the package when shipping. This might help if a buyer says the item was damaged or that they were never in receipt of the item.

  • Keep accurate records of all of your shipping receipts to serve as proof that you shipped the item.

  • Before shipping an item, make sure the payment is valid including holding a check until it clears.

  • If a buyer uses a credit card for payment, only ship the item to the address associated with the credit card.

  • Exercise caution regarding international purchases, shipping addresses that have been changed, and unusual payment methods.

Please report to us any fraudulent activities. Also see the Accepting Payment section to find out what other steps to take in the event of fraudulent activities.
